This concert, Symphonette and Junior Symphony Orchestras are joined by guest artists – Skyros String Quartet and Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra for an afternoon highlighted by the great tradition of chamber music and the spectacular blend of symphonic and traditional jazz music. This concert features the Skyros String Quartet lead by a SYSO alumna, and a staple of the Seattle classical music scene. The Skyros Quartet brings a bright and inventive style to the performance stage. Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra is the Northwest’s premier big band jazz ensemble. Founded in 1995, the 17-piece big band is made up of the most prominent jazz soloists and band leaders in the greater Seattle area.
